Sleeper league analyzer: luck, all-play and where you really rank
Sleeper shows you standings, points for and points against. It doesn't tell you who in your league is actually good, who is riding a soft schedule, or how your team would stack up against teams outside your league. That is what a league analyzer is for, and FantasyMatrix does it from nothing more than your Sleeper username and a free account.
What you get
- A luck table for the whole league: record, points for, all-play rate, expected wins and luck for every team, sorted from luckiest to unluckiest.
- Your Matrix Score: one number that compares your team with teams in every league size and scoring format, where 100 is a typical team in an equivalent league that week.
- An estimated percentile: roughly how many teams in formats like yours your season would beat.
- A share card with your score and Leaderboard rank, so you can settle the "I'm unlucky, not bad" argument in the group chat with receipts.
How it works
- Create a free FantasyMatrix account (about 30 seconds).
- Choose Sleeper and enter your Sleeper username. FantasyMatrix finds your current-season leagues through Sleeper's public, read-only API. Pick the team you manage.
- Your Matrix Score, percentile and luck table appear once the league imports, usually within a minute.
No Sleeper password and no access token are involved; FantasyMatrix only reads data Sleeper already makes public.
Example (illustrative numbers): Your league table comes back with your team at 3–3 but 4.1 expected wins (−1.1 luck), all-play 63%, and a Matrix Score of 108. Translation: better than your record, comfortably above an ordinary team in a league like yours, and not quite elite yet.
Reading the luck table
- Record: wins, losses and ties from actual matchups.
- Points for: total starter points under your league's own scoring.
- All-play: the share of league opponents each team outscored, averaged over completed weeks.
- Expected wins: the sum of weekly all-play rates, the record each team's points deserved.
- Luck: actual wins minus expected wins. The top of the table is the team the schedule has carried; the bottom is the team that keeps running into the week's hottest lineup.
The fastest read: compare luck with all-play. High all-play and negative luck is a good team about to start winning. Low all-play and positive luck is the team everyone should be trying to trade with right now.
When to connect your team
Your connected Sleeper team gets the full picture, updated after every completed week:
- Dashboard with Matrix Score, starting efficiency, point differential and schedule luck.
- My League with schedule-proof standings and head-to-head comparisons.
- The Leaderboard and The Benchmark, which compare you with every eligible team across leagues.
When a participating member connects a Sleeper league, every team in it appears on the public Leaderboard anonymously, by team name only and never by Sleeper username, with crude words masked. You can turn off public participation in your account settings. Details are in the privacy notice.
Why compare beyond Sleeper standings
Sleeper's standings tell you where you rank among your league-mates. Matrix Score tells you where you would rank among teams everywhere: a 108 in a 10-team PPR league and a 108 in a 14-team half PPR league mean the same thing, about half a standard step better than an ordinary team in an equivalent league that week. That makes it the fairest way to settle which of your three leagues you are actually best in.
Which leagues are supported
Sleeper leagues of 4 to 16 teams with supported scoring rules get a Matrix Score; unusual formats can show as unavailable rather than guessed. Season rankings need at least three completed weeks. Only the current NFL season is shown. Sleeper has full support today, and more platforms are coming.
FantasyMatrix is independent of Sleeper.
